At the Movies...

I just watched the film,  Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran. I loved it, a great and heartwarming story of a typical teenager, that befriends an old lonely guy, and the journey they go on. The only bad bit about the whole film was that it was in French, hence for the most part, I needed to use the subtitles. So much for my years doing French in High School!!

Check out this film, it really was quite good.

Movie time again...

Found this as I was trundling through the video store. It is really quite good, for a rehash of the "One last Hurrah before college" movie. I do recommend it, plus it has some very lovely boys in it.

Night at the flix...

Got a couple of movies out of the Video store this evening. I got "17Again", "The Boat that Rocked", "Milk", and "The boy in the striped pyjamas". I haven't watched milk yet, but the first two were fairly decent, "The Boat that Rocked", is well worth a watch, for some good British humour!

Now I wanted to talk about, "The boy in the striped pyjamas". This was a powerful and most chilling film, especially as it is shown through the eyes of an eight year old boy.

This film is a must watch for anyone! I know that there have been several on the subject, and  I, in no way, am intending to "Gerry Bash" here. Incredibly powerful and horrific mistakes were made, during this time. But this film does portray an important message. There is a scene in the film where the children's tutor , effectively brainwashes them during a so called "Lesson". I was truely horrified by this, but can certainly believe these things took place.

I have heard many people say that history is not important. This film shows just how important learning history is. I have always maintained that we need to know where we have come from, in order to know where we are  going. Please watch this film, but I warn you now have a tissue handy.

Defiance...

I have just watched the film Defiance. This film would have to be in my top five this year! It is chilling, gritty and emotional. Defiance, is the story of four brothers and their fight against an invading German army, and their struggle to protect those of their faith. If you only plan to see one film this year, then make it this one. I highly recommend it.

Funny movie...

I got this out tonite, for a bit of a laugh, and honestly, for a very low budget effort, it was well worth it!!

Check it out...
